Counselling

There are numerous different fields of counselling, however, in general counselling is a therapy in which the practitioner employs a combination of personal relations and professional techniques to help the client discover their past and their present mental, emotional and psychological influences. Once an understanding of the patient’s condition has been reached, counsellors aid the patient in making necessary changes so as to better their life. Counselling styles vary therapist to therapist, some working more in the past, others more in the present. Counselling is invaluable in situations of crisis, extensive grief, trauma, relationship problems and emotional and psychological problems. Counselling can be done for the individual, family, couple, or group.
